Turkey Burgers On The Grill
Making Turkey Burgers on the grill is so quick & easy!
With lots of fresh salad, you can make it a super healthy meal as well.
Here's what you'll need for your turkey burgers on the grill:
500g turkey mince
1 onion - diced
2 cloves garlic - minced
1 tblsp mild (or hot) paprika
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 egg
4 slices of bread - quickly soak in water and then squeeze out excess moisture
salt & pepper to taste
Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix through fairly well... using your hands ;)
There is no need to over-mix, the burgers may become tough as the meat fibre is worked too thoroughly.
Take even chunks of the turkey burger mix and roll between your palms to make a ball, then flatten out.
Place your turkey burgers straight onto a hot grill.
Cook on both sides until cooked through.
Pop your turkey burgers on your favourite bread rolls;
- such as white rolls, turkish bread, lepinje rolls, multigrain or whatever your family likes.
Then.... top with your favourite salad ingredients;
- such as, lettuce, grated carrot, beetroot, tomato, rocket, endive, shallots, spanish onion, dill pickles, pickled onions.. or any combination you like!
You can add your favourite condiment if you like;
- such as, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, bbq sauce, mustard etc.
And enjoy!
PS. When the children were young, just for a bit of fun, I used to assemble all the salad ingredients on a wooden board and they would build their own unique burgers! They used to just love it! Afterall, food doesn't have to be a serious affair ;)
